In a future Chicago, 16-year-old Beatrice Prior must choose among five predetermined factions to define her identity for the rest of her life, a decision made more difficult when she discovers that she is an anomaly who does not fit into any one group, and that the society she lives in is not perfect after all.
I was so excited to read this book. I am a huge fan of Dystopian novels/series and this one did not change that. I loved the main character Beatrice, or Tris. She is a very strong (both emotionally and socially), smart, and strong-willed. I loved her character.
The other main character, or love interest, Four, was also a great character. I liked how he was very tough, but also had a sense of vulnerability to him. I loved how he chose his actions and words very carefully.
I have no doubts that the next book will be as great as this one. The writing, characters, setting, ideas, and everything about it is great! I would definitely recommend it!

Where She Went
It's been three years since the devastating accident . . . three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever.
Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future-and each other.
This is the second book/sequel to If I Stay. I would not say you NEED to read If I Stay, but I would recommend it. It helps you get a feel of what is going on. I did enjoy If I Stay. Sure, I did find it kind of boring, but it was good. Now Where She Went on the other hand kind of annoyed me.
Yes, reading Adam's back story helped you understand how he got to the point, but it would cut to his past during points when I was curious to see what was going to happen in the present. I thought his character was different when I read of him in If I Stay, but now I really dislike his character.
In conclusion, I wish that there was less past tense and his character was less egotistical. I did enjoy the book, but I would only give it 3.5-4 stars out of 5.

Vampire Academy
So, I first got this book after I got my first sixth grade report card. My mom always would take me to the bookstore and let me pick out any book I wanted. I was just browsing and I thought it sounded interesting. I actually did not pick it up until my seventh grade year. I fell in love instantly.
Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir who has taken it upon herself to protect her best friend, and Moroi, or vampire, Lissa. After they run away from their school, they soon find themselves back there. Things are exactly how they were before they left. Everyone was taking classes and everything was in order. Except then Rose has a new instructor and soon finds herself in a forbidden romance.
I actually am a big nerd when it comes to vampire books. I love them. No matter what society says, they are actually good and not all of them are the same. This is no exception to that. This series is more unique than most vampire books that I have checked out.
I fell in love with the main character, Rose. She has her goals and she knows what she wants. She does not take no for an answer. She is a very strong female lead. Then there is Dimitri, another lead character and I totally took a huge liking to him instantly. He is the quiet bad boy type. I love how he views life. His perspective is different from most. He is extraordinary.
I give this book five stars for sure. CHECK IT OUT.

Hex Hall
Sophie Mercer found out she was a witch at a young age. She does a spell that goes wrong and is sent to Hex Hall, a school for supernatural beings. This school is not like a normal high school. You learn how to live as a supernatural, or Prodigium. Sophie goes through many battles at this school ranging from terrible witches, to falling in love, to learning many new things about herself.
I was kind of wary as I was getting ready to read this book. I have always loved supernatural books that have vampires and witches, but anything with faeries was never my favorite. Then I began reading it and I actually wanted to keep reading. It was different than I expected. After Sophie does a spell that gets her sent to this school, everything spirals down from her.
I instantly assumed this would be one of those cliche stories where the main girl falls in love with the popular guy and the popular girl hates her. I was right. But, unlike most cliche books, there was a big twist in the end.
I would definitely recommend this to a supernatural lover. The end has pulled me in and I definitely will read the next one.

The Fault In Our Stars
Hazel is a teenage girl trying to live through cancer. Her cancer is gone for now and hopefully it never returns. She goes to support groups, takes college classes, and spends her days with her family. Then she meets another cancer patient, Augustus Waters. He is unlike any other boy she has ever met. Is that a good thing? Or a bad thing?
When I first started this book, I fell in love with Hazel instantly. She reminded me of myself. She was witty, smart, and did things how she wanted to. Then you go on and meet Augustus and he reminded me even more of myself. Even a friend of mine, who also checked out this fantastic book, thought so too. Augustus is very intelligent, has his own way of doing things, and he is hilarious.
As you read on, you begin to fall in love with the different characters. Even minor ones! This book makes you laugh, cry, and question everything all at the same time! I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
